A Doggone Reality…?!
While much is happening behind the scenes, we share this one simple, crucial message with local dog lovers: to break ground in spring of 2018 and open the dog park by summer 2018 is largely based on the ability to fund construction costs.
Please join our efforts in making this “ruff” idea into a doggone reality by making a donation to the dog park now!
The city will accept tax deductible dog park donations from individuals and businesses. To donate or pledge, click on the “Make a Donation” link to learn how. Please follow these instructions precisely.
Our goal is to raise a minimum of $78,000. We are not quite halfway there. As of September 2017, $35,000 in cash contributions and pledges has been secured. Additionally, the city applied for a NYS Parks, Preservation and Heritage grant, requesting state funding for the dog park. The city will be notified of the grant award outcome in December 2017.
The dog park construction costs, approximate cash outlay of $157,000, is currently proposed as a 50/50 split between the NYS grant and CCC fundraising. The city will provide additional in-kind services.
Won’t you help us reach our goal so our beloved dogs can freely and safely exercise and socialize off-leash? Every dollar counts!
Thank you!
